This year, we are delighted to recognize a volunteer group that is truly part of the Second Harvest family, affectionately called the “Polar Bears,” as our 2020 Volunteer Group of the Year!
The Polar Bears are aptly named for their group’s service area, which is sorting and boxing frozen meat in the Second Harvest cooler for distribution to our partner agencies. For about eight years, this group of friends, primarily members of Faith Presbyterian Church in Tallahassee, have volunteered multiple times every week, with remarkable passion for and dedication to their service. This is a group that prioritizes giving back to their community, and has a great time serving with each other!
We love to see them walk in the door, as they are always ready with a smile, a joke, and a friendly word or chat to uplift and support our staff. When the Second Harvest team needs a little inspiration, we need look no further than the Polar Bears! Thank you gentlemen, and please know how very much your time and talents mean to Second Harvest. We applaud you, each and every one!
Congratulations to the Polar Bears:
