Virginia Glass Benefit Luncheon 2020 – CANCEL
April 2 @ 11:45 am - 1:00 pm
Virginia Glass Benefit Luncheon
Out of an abundance of caution and following the advice from our community leaders, the Second Harvest team and I have decided to cancel my 5th Annual Luncheon for April 2 – this event is one of Second Harvest’s largest annual fundraising events.
Although we cannot be together this year to enjoy delicious seafood and fellowship, I had a goal initially of raising $18,000, but given the sudden impact of Coronavirus, I would be thrilled if we could raise that to $30,000 because needs are greater now with extra demands on Second Harvest to provide meals for our food insecure population, right here in Leon County.
Coronavirus poses an even greater threat to food insecure populations. I would like your support to ensure our neighbors in need can make it through these challenging times.
Many seniors in the Big Bend region may need additional food and supplies. At-risk children may need nutritious meals if schools close. In preparation for the impacts of Coronavirus, Second Harvest is planning to increase its food distribution to individuals and families in need.
Your financial support will help Second Harvest meet the greatest need ahead. A donation of ANY AMOUNT will help them continue to respond. Please visit www.fightinghunger.org/covid19 to donate – and remember, monthly donations are an easy way to help without putting a strain on your budget. Those of you with extra time on their hands are encouraged to volunteer because there is always a need for several ways to share your talents.
Thank you again for supporting Second Harvest and my fish fry over the past four years.
