Morgan Stanley’s 2021 employee campaign, “Move for Meals,” provided a $33,684 hunger relief grant to Second Harvest food bank.
“We are excited to bring back Move for Meals, an opportunity for our employees to join together once again around the world and help fight hunger by helping global hunger-relief organizations do their important work to fight hunger disparity that has only worsened throughout the pandemic,” said Joan Steinberg, Morgan Stanley’s Global Head of Philanthropy.
“Like other food banks across the globe, Second Harvest experienced a decline in food supplies and resource availability during the pandemic,” said Shari Hubbard, Director of Communications for Second Harvest. “According to Feeding America, Second Harvest and other member food banks experienced up to a 55% increase in the number of people seeking food assistance during the pandemic, so Morgan Stanley’s support is particularly impactful as we work to meet the increased demand for food throughout the Big Bend.”
In total, Morgan Stanley donated $5 million to 22 hunger relief organizations worldwide, equaling 50 million meals, resulting from the Move for Meals employee campaign.
