As we begin National Volunteer Week, Second Harvest of the Big Bend is proud to announce that 16 food bank volunteers have received the President’s Volunteer Service Award.
The President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation founded the President’s Volunteer Service Award in 2003 “to recognize the important role of volunteers in America’s strength and national identity. This award honors individuals whose service positively impacts communities in every corner of the nation and inspires those around them to take action, too.”
Awards are given at three levels; gold for 500+ annual service hours, silver for 250-499 annual service hours, and bronze for 100-249 service hours. Each honoree will receive an official award certificate and pin. Congratulations to our 2020 PVSA honorees!
