Second Harvest Food Bank Plans Thanksgiving Food Distribution Event to Serve 1,000 Families
Tallahassee, FL – Second Harvest of the Big Bend food bank has scheduled a pre-Thanksgiving food distribution event to serve 1,000 families on Saturday, Nov. 20. In addition to turkeys collected during the food bank’s eighth annual Turkey Drive, fresh produce, dry and canned goods for a complete Thanksgiving meal will be distributed.

Date: Saturday, Nov. 20
Location: Governor’s Square Parking Lot, Tallahassee
Time: 9 AM – 12 PM (while supplies last)
The distribution will be set up in eastern corner of Governor’s Square parking lot off of South Blairstone Road. Citizens are asked to follow event signage and enter as directed by onsite traffic control officers, then follow traffic flow with assistance from volunteers and Second Harvest staff. This will be a drive-through distribution; citizens should plan to stay in their cars and follow social distancing protocols. Food is available to any local resident in need, and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. No identification or proof of income is required.
