FOOD FOR THOUGHT TOURS

We are thrilled to announce that our monthly Food for Thought tours will resume on August 25, 2021! Thank you for your interest in touring Second Harvest food bank, and in learning more about food insecurity in the Big Bend, and how Second Harvest is working to address hunger in our community.

  • Did you know that the more than 150,000 people in the Big Bend region are food-insecure?
  • Did you know that Second Harvest food bank’s service area—11 counties in the Big Bend—has the highest food insecurity rate in the state? And that 1 in 4 of our neighbors, including 31,000 children, struggle with hunger daily?

Our Food for Thought tours are free, one-hour sessions which include an informative presentation, a food bank walking tour, and a complimentary lunch provided by Chicken Salad Chick. Tours are offered monthly and are available to individuals and groups.
