Fight Hunger Spark Change 2024
April 1st-29th
Now, for the 11th straight year, all U.S. Walmart stores and Sam’s Clubs are launching the Fight Hunger. Spark Change. campaign, with the goal of providing people facing hunger with access to the food and resources they say they need to thrive.
Within our 16 county service area 1 in 6 children food insecure and 1 in 9 people are food insecure. Many of our neighbors live paycheck to paycheck and often have to choose between paying bills, or buying groceries for themselves and their families. This is why Walmart and Sam’s Club is so vital to the mission of fighting hunger in the Big Bend.
Second Harvest received nearly 1 million lbs of food in 2023 from Walmart and Sam’s Club. This food is delivered to our facility, sorted by our volunteers, delivered to our partner agencies within our 16 county service area, then distributed out to our neighbors who are food-insecure in our community! You can help right now through April 29th, through the Walmart and Sam’s Club “Fight Hunger. Spark Change.” campaign, in stores . Together, we can #fighthungersparkchange !
