Shredded Cabbage Salad

Cabbage is highly nutritious and is commonly grown in Florida in the fall but can be found at most grocery stores year-round. Cabbage is high in vitamin c and fiber and can make a great addition to any meal! Try it in this delicious, shredded cabbage salad!


  • 4 Cups of Cabbage, Shredded
  • 1 Cup of Bell Pepper, Sliced into Thin Strips
  • 1 Cup of Tomato, Diced
  • 1/4 Cup of Sunflower Seeds
  • 1/4 Cup of Olive Oil
  • 1 oz of Lime Juice
  • 1/4 Cup of Malt Vinegar
  • 1 TSP of Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 TSP Onion Powder
  • 1 TSP Thyme
  • 1 TSP Coriander
  • Salt to Taste

Cooking Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, build your salad with cabbage as the base, then add the bell pepper, diced tomatoes, and sunflower seeds.
  • In a measuring cup, add all of the spices, lime juice, and malt vinegar to create the dressing. Mix together. Optional: zest the lime with a grater over the salad.
  • Add the dressing and mix. Salt to taste and serve!
